Rommel's Relationship With Hitler
Rommel had been involved in dealing with the collapse of Germany after the First World War. He was very clearly strongly affected by that and saw the need for there to be strong national leadership. Like an awful lot of people he was clearly taken by the the mesmerism that Hitler was able to to to to exude him. It was enduring the course of the war when he saw how detached from reality Hitler really was that his his loyalty faded away.
