How Did You Find Working in Film?
John was an exciting director to work with, very challenging. He had this idea that he'd make a colour film in black and white. All the sets were painted in tonues of grey and black. The only colour came from the faces. Sometimes we made it on location in a house at the end of this derelict street. And i admitit, made the mistake of choosing an operator who wasn't experienced. So he didn't last. Wasn't entirely happy for a few days. But on the whole, it was a very happy experience because he was so stimulating to be with. I shot another movie with him many years later.
