The Absolute Master of Mortal Reality Is Death
Lacan says the fragmented body is touched with death, tinged with death. The analyst has a role to play in this. In order for the transference relationship to escape these effects, the analyst would have to strip the narcissistic image of his own ego from all the forms of desire by which the image has been constituted. That's where we're going to turn next and this very important move that Lacan makes with the role of the analyst.
