Cambridge Women - What Is the Difference Between Labour and MPs?

In 1897, clergymen came from all over the country to vote against women being given degrees. Cambridge was unusual in that it still gave a vote to what were called the MAs. They were students who went on often to become clergymen and they didn't like to see all the women coming in. The 1700s were really outside the university.
