There's as many portuguese speakers in south america as there are spanish speakers. I will say that i agree with you on german, because my prediction is that german will become more and more and more important in the future for commerce. And then for your points about portuguese, actually something that i didn't realize before i came down here to brazil. It's so different than what i expected, absolutely yet.
