Sensory Deprivation Tanks: A Precondition for Deep Religion

I don't think it's an add-on. I think it's a possibly a precondition. Some people are monks, and they go into a monastery where they take a vow not to speak. And when God talks back to you, I think that's a real experience, but I think that God isn't real. So if you imagine a person who voluntarily went into this thing of not speaking involuntarily, it would be torture in the same with the sensory deprivation tank.
