The Rise of International Students in the UK
Government had a target for the international number of international students. They hit that target 10 years early - most targets are never hits at all. Number of non-EU people and their dependents coming on work visas doubled to 235,000 between 2019 and 2022. People from Ukraine and Hong Kong now make up about one in six immigrants. The largest single group of people leaving is students.
