We actually do not have to dig up half the earth to get all that as a mineral we need. Less than half a percent of the world's land is disturbed by mining activity yet its products support here in this case. Even if you recycled a hundred percent of copper you would still only meet 60 percent of the demand for copper we will have in 2030 right? We must think about with all these new metals and minerals are going to come from, he says. But there's also a massive need to actually collect what we already have reuse it so that we're only mining what we absolutely require.
