The Global Conversation on Carbon Colonialism
Carbon colonialism is a phrase that's been used with increasing regularity in recent years. It refers to the fact that you're taking up land most prominently in the globe itself in order to pay for the excess carbon emissions of predominantly global northern industries or global southern industries which are producing for the local. The idea that we are facing climate change, we're also facing economic development and globalisation of our lives - these two things are mutually entangled processes. So what this book is set up to do on all my work is done over the last 15 years is really to centre those issues as a kind of single nexus of inquiry.
