The Importance of Reminiscing

Psychologists would emphasize the fact that young children and adults memories are not very reliable. Even with repeated questioning about an episode that never took place there's evidence that some children and indeed adults may end up believing that these episodes did actually take place. All of us I think are vulnerable to this so-called false memory syndrome or the misremembering we tend to end up thinking that we participated in certain events or certain events happen to us.
