Sally Kohn: I think where it began was personally in my husband was a pastor at a church that I also ran my therapy practice at. We were very controlled and diminished by very domineering later. And so as a person recovering myself, knowing those are loaded terms that are attached to very, very painful stretches of my life. She says she had to come to this through a very personal experience rather than which is probably true for a lot of us, even as clinicians.
