The Independent Versus the Interdependent Self

In Western standard, each individual is seen as an independent entity. And we use those internal attributes to guide our behaviors. We argue that outside of Western culture, there may be a very different model which we call interdependent. That is, relationship with others is far more important than the fact fundamental.
