The Gag Rule
In 1836 Frank gets a letter that says he is a father. He's pro-southern now but he's from the north. In a speech to congress he said abolitionists were a small group of fanatics and did not represent the opinions of the north. So he introduces what became known as the gag rule in which any abolitionist bill is automatically tabled. Do you think ten years ago that would have sounded like a crazy thing to have happen? Yeah not anymore. I hate when it's just like same shit exactly that that bothered me because I had these embers of hope before we did this show.
