At most places, the target date funds have costs that are higher than what you would pay if you were to just buy every constituent element of what's inside of that fund. That's why i like van guard's target date funds. Even a vanguard, the acid allication, rips you off. Most people need that last double. They need, if you use a rule 72, when you look at how long it takes your money to double, a target date fund will rob you of the bld more than any which is the last one.
