The Fatimid Calipse were at the same time the Esma'ili imams. And in that capacity he articulated the religious policies of the mission. As a result, we see that Esma'ilism disappeared in Egypt on the downfall of the Fatimid. But it survived in the lands beyond the FatimID state up until now.
