The History of Astrology in the Hellenistic Age
astrology was one of the main arts, or fields of knowledge that was lost during the so called dark age. It survived in some ways in the greek speaking east, and also in probably in mesopotamia and persia. This was the state of affairs when islam appeared in the world. And they took whatever astrological knowledge they could collect from greece, from the near east and from persia,. They tried to build upon it at their great centre of learning - baghdad. So baghdad became the new great capital of astrology.
