The Cabinet of Curiosities
Thomas Rollins was the 13th street musician to be taken to court for a noise complaint. He'd been visiting London when he suddenly found himself in custody of the local police. Up to 20 organ grinders a day were dispatched to his home to annoy him until he would finally pay them a tip to leave him alone. In 1865, after having dozens of street musicians taken toCourt for a Noise Complaint, he met his match: A horse pulling a cab or carriage through town. The accident left Rollins with a number of injuries, including leaking abscesses and a ruptured bladder.
