Are You a Product or a Platform?

We are increasingly seeing companies that target developers as a consumer also have developer relations. So GitHub is quite an interesting example of this. JetBrains is another really interesting example of that, actually. And there would typically a DevRel falls on a spectrum between like, are you a product or are you a platform? What you need from a DevRel depends on where on that spectrum you fall.
