A lot of white conservatives lived in the burbs. It was kind of like one of the reliable areas for Republican votes and stuff in France. The suburbs, a lot of which were built specifically for communities of people from from French overseas population who were moving to the country. They're much closer to that than they are, like the sort of American white flight stuff.
