Is There a Difference Between Right and Left in Latin America?

Right-leaning governments came to power in between the two waves of the left. One distinction I would make among different stakeholders on the right is not unlike what we would see in the United States. There is this economic conservative force, which is more in favor of market-based policies and fiscal responsibility. And there's also a social-based right that cares deeply about social issues such as LGBTQ plus rights or role of women.
