David Deutsch has shared in the winning of the breakthrough prize for quantum computing. He is acknowledged as the originator of many of these ideas, and the original expositor of them. But I don't tend to focus on the singular intellectual mind that is David Deutsch. When matters arise that are outside the usual stream of business, I think this occasion warrants it.
