LZ Granderson: Affection isn't neighborliness, it's a form of love that we don't have for our neighbors. He says public interactions are conditioned by our neighborly private neighborliness and our appreciation of people from different walks of life. LZ: I do think that, that kind of familiarity grows up. It's not just family. It does expand out.
