Traditional Chinese Religion Has Disappeared From Villages

Every community in traditional china was originally built around a local landmark. This could be a rock, for example, the monkey king is born from a rock rigt. People would imagine that this figure would protect them and grant them power against demonic intrusions. And so this is also a reason that nowadays, in o chinese cities, they have been completely overhauled. The old neighborhoods are gone. The old shrines are gone, the old temples are gone. That means that the traditional form of chinese, of chinese religion, has basically disappeared from cities.
