Van Gogh's Mental Illness
As he grew up, Van Gogh did not know what to do with his life. For a time he was an art dealer, but he was restless and quit after a year. He also wanted to become a preacher, but the church didn't accept him. But soon discovered that he was very good at making art. His mental illness began in Paris where many other interesting artists lived. There he was able to talk to and learn from them. It helped him become a better artist. However, leaving Paris made things worse.
