The senate judiciary committee moved forward mandatory ethics legislation that would require the courts to adopt a code of conduct for justices. It seems pretty clear that this legislation is dead in the water and republicans are not hugely interested i don't think in taking this up on the senate floor but it is nevertheless you know one more moment kind of signaling that there is an increasing political appetite particularly on the left to start tackling the ethics problems uh that the court seems to be weighing itself down with so what do we think of this is this posturing by white house?
