The Volatility of Inflation
The real exchange rate can only move from inflation. The volatility of inflation diferentials has usually come down, right? Especially in g ten, central banks have broadly become a lot better at understanding how to control inflation. And we're anly seeing a lot more volatility and inflation. Now, it's early days, and so i don't want to o make any big claims that this is a turning point, but i think it's good to understand these components of feffect volatility and how they can be impacted by what the pandemic does.
