Doubt is taught as the fifth hindrance. It's a persistent inability to commit oneself. We doubt ourselves because our world holds up all these people as shining examples of perfect, which means we're not perfect, right? So why try? But see, all these people, they become caricatures of themselves. They are thinking covetously, thinking with malice, and thinking with antagonism.
