Vanguardism is another term that hints at a debate within Marxism. It carries with it this connotation of elitism, right, like having an elite vanguard above the working class who guides things. But in Leninist sense, it gets at this idea of a professional revolutionary leadership. And for the caricatures about v Vanguardism and vanguard party, it really is not about standing on top as a dictator or handing down dictates to people.
