The Problem With Stratum's Algorithm
Stratatum is the first Bitcoin mining pool. It was set up to protect itself from being basically de-dossed by machines. Originally, you could not give every device its own difficulty target. Now pools choose how often they want to see a share and it's more advanced in that way.
