When the revolution ended, Obrigón gave VIA a nice ranch where he could live out his days. The Conatillo Hacienda sat on a vast 163,000 acres. But it came with some baggage: Melitón La Soya was extraordinarily corrupt. On January 23, 1923, seven and a half months before Via's death, La Soya asked to discuss some matters with Obrigon.
