The Cyclorama of the Vote Atlanta

In 1973, Maynard Jackson was elected the first Black mayor of Atlanta. And soon, the problem of the Cyclorama landed on his desk. The painting was in terrible shape, wrecked by humidity and fungus. On one hand, lots of Atlanta said this glorifies the Confederacy. We don't want anything to do with it. And we certainly don't want our tax dollars going towards the crumbling relic.
