What Is a Recession?
The mailbag has a variety of questions about how to best prepare for a potential recession. The question kind of threw me off because in my understanding, the stock market is not really the determinant of a recession. A better indicator is how consumers are spending and how it's impacting economic growth. Real gross domestic product dropped at an annual rate of 1.4% in the first three months of this year.
