Is There a Difference Between Pre-War Attitudes and the American Public?

I'm trying to think about, you know, and this is, these are the unanswerables. I wonder how the reaction would have been different than if you'd had that same conversation at the end of the Second World War in 1945. Do you think 1930s United States public opinion would have supported something like this? People would have been appalled. We're not as deduced to cave. There's something, any of that, and about faith in the space of 10 years, it's kind of remarkable to see.
