Christmas Day - A Christmas Carol
Irving describes the yule clog, which is an enormous log burned during the holiday. He also talks about christmas candles being wreathed in greens andLots of singing and dancing and general gaiety. On arrival at the church he finds the parson rebuking the grey headed sexton for having used mistletoe among the greens with which the church was decorated. It was deemed by the fathers of the church as unhallowed and totally unfit for sacred purposes.
