Sustainable global ESG indexes have done worse than the plain vanilla MSCI World Index. Energy has been by far the best performing sector this year, delivering a return of more than 50 percent. The Federal Reserve isn't about to stop raising interest rates yet because it wants to bring inflation under control. Tech and growth investing are a double-edged sword. They pay off in rising markets when sentiment is bullish, but a bull market also masks potential weaknesses such as many tech companies still unprofitable.
