Is the Vibration of the Strings a Mechanical Cause?
Theory of causation called occasionalism. We're going to talk about it at great length next time when we actually read about it. Motheyr isn't necessarily deceitful, right? That's the idea, the explanation, in terms of the vibration of the string. That's access to the intelligible realm. But i agree that part of is having mechanical causes. And what i found confusing was the account for sensory perception. It felt to me like it was qualitatively different then account of vibrating strings. I fellike there was a lot more uncertainty about our perceptions that was not just born out of lack of information.
