I Can Use My Gun Because I'm Threatened That Someone Might Take My Gun
The argument is that if people see you have gun, they're not going to mess with you. But in reality, when you bring a gun, it also provokes people who feel threatened by your presence. When they feel threatened, you feel threatened, which means you're justified in shooting them. If we just give them out when you graduate from high school, so everyone has a gun, then no one will feel threatened, exactly. And this is the argument i had with david french the first time he was on to debate gun policy in this country. Is this the kind of society that jesus is calling us to cultivate?
