Gleason 6 Prostate Cancer

The Gleason score is a scoring system that's based on pathologic examination of prostate tissue removed during a biopsy. In general, grade group 1, which is basically Gleason 3 plus 3 equals 6 prostate cancer, is generally managed with active surveillance for the vast majority of men. The opposite side of the scale, so the grade group 4 and 5 cancers, those are the really nasty ones. Those are usually like Gleason 8, 9, 10. You know, those need to be treated.
