Worms can rip themselves in half and then regenerate. Their genomes are an incredible mess. They have somatic inheritance. Any mutation that doesn't kill the neoblast, the stemcel in which it occurs, propagates to the next generation. It's amazing how little we understand about the relationship between anatomy and genom when the genom can be, can be mutated to that level.
