Before ISIS declared its caliphate and you had the foreign fighters leaving from Europe, from all over the world to go to Syria and Iraq, that was a very open time. You could tweet at people and kind of DM them and then convince them to come across the border and meet with you in Turkey. There were there were fixers who were out there who were helping journalists and researchers arrange interviews. I met family members who told me that they knew their son or daughter was going to catch a flight to gone to Syria. And so it actually was was made life really easy for me at the time.
