Reflecting on the Experience and Its Place in Life

Chance was hiking with his dad and cousin while on vacation in Hawaii as a teenager. They had just visited the Kilauea Iki Crater and were headed back up when he decided to try to run ahead. Chance had only run ahead for a few minutes when suddenly he found himself transported to a completely different area, somewhere in the jungle, surrounded by a fence on all sides. He reflects on this instance of missing time and the strange boy he met while he was missing.
