What Is Geological Time?

We use the decay of a radioactive isotope to measure time. The solar system was born 4,558 million years ago - an incredibly precise measurement. And we can divide the age of the rocks into different units based on how long it's taken for them to decay. It is in becoming an extraordinary exact science. Using that, you know, we can make a timeline for when different things happen within the solar system on Earth.
