Is There Such a Thing as Mortal Sin?
In the first letter of Paul to Timothy, he addresses false teachers and certain good persons. John says there is such a thing as sin that is not deadly. Deadly is a K a mortal, mortal sin and venial is a KA a not deadly. And so we get that doctrine of the difference between mortal and venial sin going into the first letter in this case.
