Is There a Way to Celebrate Progress?
By the late nineteenth century, the world was very positive on progress. It was seen as fundamentally a good thing and moving the world forward. And an twentieth century really violently shattered those naive ilusions. The first thing that people think whenever you introduce any technological development is how this is going to kill people? Is this going toharm the environment? How is this going to lead to war? We are at our best when we're not worried about what's happening around us.
