The Feminine in Medieval Textual and Visual Culture

The medieval femme is a woman who does not turn male in some way that holds on to their femininity, their female identity. Ovid's story of Ifus and Yanthi shows the extent to which those women become visible. And so I was interested in bringing out the femme to the fore as being an important player in these narratives.
