The Siege of La Kish

Siege engine is basically a big battering ram on wheels. Sennacherib memorialized the siege of La Kish in these wall reliefs that are on display in the British Museum now, but cover several walls within his palace in Nineveh. This became his base of operations for his siege of Jerusalem when King Hezekiah threw off a vassalage to the Syrian Empire. And then you also have La Kish playing a large role in the Babylonian exile when the Babylonians come to take Jerusalem.
