The number of Americans who say they've been diagnosed with depression at some point has risen to 29%, according to a new Gallup report. Suicide rates went up 18% over that same timeframe, and auto deaths among adolescents also rose 23%. COVID lockdowns appear to have played a significant role when it comes to mental health as millions of Americans were isolated from their communities and loved ones.
