In the late 1800s, British manufacturers eclipsed aristocracy as richest class in nation. New wealthy elite weren't British aristocrats anymore, but American businessmen such as Henry Ford and John D. Rockefeller. The new wealthy elite were no longer British aristocrats aristocrats a third time. And they'd made all their money off industry rather than land.
