FUSF-Correlated Synuclein in Parkinson's Disease
The categories of synucleinopathies include Parkinson's multiple system atrophy dementia with lewy bodies pure autonomic failure. The prodromal states which can include most typically REM sleep behavior disorder amongst other kind of prodromal conditions and in prior work with our group and others we know that the FUSF correlated synuclein can be detected across all of these diseases. So traditionally when we see FUSF related alpha-synuclein it tells us that yes that that abnormal protein is now present and in whatever tissue source we're looking at.
