The Bipartisan Strategy to End Fascism
Nixon and Kissinger argued that engagement with China, particularly commercial engagement, would eventually sue the savage beast. What we did from that equation is the fact that fascism can function just fine in a system dominated by capitalism. We should have known that from what happened with Italy and Germany in the 1930s. And so this was a bipartisan strategy, it was a coherent strategy, but it failed. It's only recently with China has the United States begun to question the proposition put forth by Nixon and Kissinger.
